Just to reiterate a know site in OZ RSPE7027 on E bay.I have taken delivery yesterday of a beautiful razor. A 13/16 Modoso vintage, that is in superb condition, and was totally shave ready in all the senses. Wipe the oil off and shave, like a blade through butter. The site stocks some genuinely restored and totally functional quality str8t razors. I've bought 3 from Ron Spencer's site rspe7027, super prompt delivery, and the razor is consistently high class. If you are a beginner that doesn't wasnt to find a honester, check it out, great razors, dead set shave ready and you can select from a cheaper to deluxe, with both being top class and shave ready. Check it out. When it arrives, shave with it. IT IS SHAVE READY! And I'd be astonished if you got anything but quality from this bloke. Bobski

Iv'e been round the oz retailers/on-line retailers for a while. The above mentioned E bay site rspe7027, sell mostely vintage product. However the quality is exemplary, outstanding. A lot of young learners to straight shaving find themselves with brand new Dovo's T I's etc, that in their new state won't shave - end of story- They WON'T shave well out of the box. Sure a skilled honester can rub em on a 12 k to get em right in a short time, with a whiff of crox. BUT if you are a kid wanting to buy a high quality razor that is absolutely completely 'Shave ready' then buy off this bloke. I have 3 of his and they are terrific. So if your wanting to get into str8ts buy one of this bloke, you will have your first shave that tops a half hour after it arrives. I have corresponded with the site and they are the real deal.I had a shave an hour ago, and my first 3 favourite razors are from Ron Spencer's site. I've a number of good razors, a full array of naniwas superstones, but if you were parted from your regular razors, then get one of his. In Australia in my humble opinion if you can have a 6/8 razor delivered to your door and shave 15 minutes later then more power to you. RSPE7027 on ebay make it easy to understand what quality is, what true sharp is. If you are in OZ you wait 3 - 4 days. If we had to go OS for our razors, then prices are only going to follow and the wait 3 weeks?.

So you got the Modoso... I was following the auction but decided to conserve my cash. It did look good though and I thought it was one of the more interesting razors that particular vendor has had up. He certainly gets some good stock. He says all the razors are done with a hone sequence up to 20k - I wonder if he's using a Gokumyo?

    Yes, sir,
I liked the width, it's heritage, and wasn't over priced. As to ron's stock and his sharpening tools. I'm not qualified to comment, other than to say, it only took a tissue..to really like the razor. Believe me if it was ordinary I'd tell you straight up. Put it this way, I can't replicate his results with a full array of naniwas's. Whenever you buy a new one, to have it as sharp as his, is rare. My wife has tried to have me declared insane......they are sharp. Bob. cheers

Declared insane eh? This is often a reaction at the early stage; eventually they settle down and might even show something approaching pride in their husband's mild eccentricities - not to mention acquaintance with a bunch of unsavoury characters (at least they're only on the internet). On that subject, I don't suppose you're in Qld? If you are, we have occasional meet-ups and you'd be more than welcome to come along. They've had them in Sydney and Melbourne too; the SA and WA people have talked about it but I don't know if they've got their acts together yet.

    all the best, Mike

I added to the collection, picking up what is my favourite razor yet, bringing the total to eight. Once again I went to Ron Spencer's site (rspe7027 - e bay) I landed a dorko 651-13/16 in mint condition. Needless to say Ron does what he says about 'shave ready'. They are!Great razors fellas he can send em anywhere. Some of these razors are better than others, but I have 4 off Ron Spencer, and one brand new one I picked up was OK, but the other two winners, the Modoso and the Dorko win hands down. I have a full set of naniwa stones, and I've not gone near them. Leather only. Some say 'So it should'. The major worldwide razor suppliers endorse their products are shave ready, none I've seen are close. rspe7027 are 'Scary sharp' and are the best razors I have used since going to straights!

Now your working on my HAD, I really would like the gokumyo but seem to be spending every cent on razors as it gets to me so saving for a 20k might take a while. I also have a dorko and would rate it as the best I have so far and I have a few of the better brand or sought after razors.
