DMT Lapping plate
Hi, I was just wondering if anyone on here knew where to get a DMT or similar lapping plate cheap here in Aust. I have been told that you can get them for 60-70 somewhere but i cant for the life of me seam to find them.

I doubt that's a current price in Australia.
You can try Carbatec & Evertens but the basic 8" DMTC will be around $100.

I have a permanent search I follow on Ebay set up for these & usually you are looking at BIN for about $100AUD delivered to us as below but occasionally I see them pop up for about $70 AUD lowest I have found
not very often I see them for bid going cheaper

I second Carbatec. Got mine for $90ish excl. postage some time back. I think they're $109 today.

Carbatec is where I got mine a couple years ago. Glad I got it then seems they have gone up a bit. The atoma from Tools from Japan might be worth a look

Boy have they gone up! $109 + postage now from Carbatec; when I bought mine it was $64 and that was only about 2 years ago. Do what Substance recommends and look on ebay. Geoff (Havachat45) swears by the Atoma so that could be an option.

Hey Eddy. I'm looking for the Dmt d8c, if that's the one that gets referred to everywhere. I am just looking to get into honing. I only want to start refreshing my razor. I have found some Shapton Professional stones from knivesandstones.com. He sells a set of 1k, 5k and 12k for $265 incl postage.
