Default New Tooheys Pale Ale.........don't bother.

Had a couple of sample stubbies last night and it was pretty average. I'm a big fan of Pale Ale so I was hoping it'd be a cheap option for when you want to down a few quickly to kill a thirst but how wrong I was. It didn't have much of a Pale Ale flavor at all. It tasted like 10% Pale Ale mixed with something else. Not a great drink at all.

John and dooey, you guys should try Moo Brew Pale Ale. This stuff is absolutely bursting with flavour. Gee, I sound like an ad :-)

I was recently in Europe for 6 weeks and had some excellent ales in Slovakia and the Moo Brew PA compares very favourably with them. BTW, Kaltenecker Christmas IPA is an absolute knockout; I wish we could get it here.

There's plenty of good Pale Ales around. Williams which is made by the De Bortoli wine group is a ripper. Sierra Nevada isn't too bad either. James Squires Stow Away IPA is also a decent drop. I'll have to try the Moo Brew Pale Ale. I'll keep a look out for it.
I see that there's going to be a XXXX Gold Pale Ale. Lord help us.

They had to call it xxxx because calling it beer would be an insult. Though as light beers go it isn't horrible.

As a Queenslander, I no longer take offence at that slur on Four Ex. It isn't owned by any Australian company anymore and isn't worth spending our coin on anymore. Just so you know The X was a sign of how strong a beer was The strongest ones were usually marked XXX. Ours was stronger still...Of course that could just be so much BS, but that's what I read somewhere anyway.

Right I'm off to bed. Been up way too many hours already. Need to put me head down for a few hours. Home brew or micro brewery. That's the way to go I reckon. I made a mean IPA, and had a wheat beer down just the way I like it when I did home brew. The IPA was potent, but oh so nice in moderation.
