    Default Straight razor scales

    Hey everyone,

Does anyone know where you can get some nice acrylic from other than pen blanks in Australia? Love the colours of the pen blanks but they just are to small at 20 x 20mm.

    Cheers

I don't know mate. Whenever I've seen acrylics at wood shows and the like they're always cut short as you said. You could try some of the knife maker supply outfits like Gameco

I know there not in Australia, but I've gotten some 6 inch ones from Wood Pen Pro which was enough for scales.

Check the suppliers for "Large blanks."
That is what they are called here.

This US supplier may give you some ideas as to what to look for locally. I would think that an email to them would maybe supply a local importer in your area.

Seeing I've retired from restoring, you're welcome to check out my offcuts of Acrylic sheet. No charge of course.

Or you can check the dumpsters at signmakers. Often a great source.

I bit the bullet and bought some Kirinite from one of the knife supply shops in the US. Didn't have any luck finding similar here. Just need a good supply of washers now.

Hi, I had a look at kitinite after you mentioned it and it looks really nice. What store did you buy it from? The actual supplier?

    Cheers

I've bought from these guys. Buy the larger blocks and contact him before buying and ask to have them cut into 1/8 slabs. Tell him what your doing and he will know what up. I got this info from Cudarunner (Roy). I bought two colors and they were both very nice.
