@bazz True blue. @mick he made the first move mate. I followed up with a shovel and then a knife and then a pan with onions

@Baz Bloody oath . @hendersr I prefer garlic, parsley and just a touch of rosemary. Olive oil and white wine for the cooking. But in a pinch, onions will do. You could always do what the Aboringines do, and pack the snake in clay/mud, chuck him onto the coals to cook. Take off the dried mud and be left with a lovely moist roast meat, the skin having come away with the mud. You could pack him with onions too if you wanted...

P.S I'm wondering if anybody thinks we're a weird mob with all this ocker 'strine being bandied about now. For those that do, we don't normally carry on like this, except for fun. The younger generation (as a generalisation) sound more American than most American's I know.

It was a while ago now mate but it tasted ok. Had its own unique flavour, not dry meat. Not a whole lot of it. Pythons might be better they are big and meaty.

I just finished off sorting out an old .22 for the property homestead for use as a snake/rat gun. Got a small stock pile of rat shot (also good for snakes). The rifle had damaged iron sights, so I replaced them with a low power (1.5-6x42) variable scope which will also make it a worthwhile bunny buster too. A shotty would do too much damage if I have to shoot inside the house...Snakes have been known to come in for lunch out there. Rat shot will be less harmful to the floor, since I'll be back-pedalling from the buggers and hopefully they'll do the same for me.

P.S. Depends how close to the NSW border you are Bazz, you might come across a Carpet Python.
