I think these guys DMT Diamond Sharpeners Buy Online in Australia and Save! will be the best price on the DMT's, but my other hones came from Belgium.
Yup Everten's are about the cheapest here for DMT's
Then you have Carbatec for Kings & super cheap China 12k's
Sharpening Tools : CARBA-TEC

Lie-Nielsen Toolworks Australia | Home
And let's not forget So Yamashita san for an awesome experience with J-Nats.
Yeah-yah !!! He's in Oz Japan Tool
Thanks guys

Double Sided Japanese Waterstone 1000/6000 grit : CARBA-TEC

Economy Double Sided Oil Stone : CARBA-TEC
Personally I think 1k --->6k is a big jump . I prefer to go 1k 2k 4k or another option is 1k,3k,6k but 1k,4k, 8k is maybe a better progression. I just think you will spend a lot of time lapping your 6k with that combo. Remember Carbatec is mainly aimed at knife & tool folks.
This is the Chinese 12k :

1k is necessary if you buy razors on eBay...As is some kind of lapping system for your stones ;)
Not sure if you bought anything already, but I have a set of norton combos that are very lightly used if you looking for the standard starting stones. PM me if interested.
I recently got a set of naniwas and the nortons arent getting any use at all anymore.
I got a King 800 and a C12k from Carbatec in Melbourne. Seemed like pretty good prices.
As far as progression I go 800, 4k, 8k, 12k and now I'm experimenting with CrO on balsa as well. Too early to say if it makes much diff compared to just the 12k. What do you more experienced guys think?
I found pasted strops improved the C12k edge when I used it. See what works for you.
You've got a bit of a jump there from 800 to 4k. Do you spend a lot of time on the 4k ?
