Thanked: 983All is good here Don, thanks for your concern. We missed all but the stress of the event. I had just short of 4 hours sleep the other night when the worst was expected. Thankfully it didn't happen. If the tide had have been much higher at the time I might have had to turn my children into boogie boards to save my own hide though...
It's a big stinkymess just 400 metres down the road right now too. Massive clean up happening right now.

Thanked: 983I take a philosophical view on it, they're rich down there (waterfront properties, gotta be rich ), they can afford it, but damage was still minimal. Just messy.

P.S You'd better be telling us all the news in four weeks time when your life comes to an end. Nothing like a child to ruin everything.Last edited by MickR; 01-14-2011 at 09:57 AM. Reason: P.S

Thanked: 983Today I got to play bog the lawnmower. Bloody ground is still fairly moist. Had to move the wifes car and just about plowed through the fence. I had to give it a bootful to get it to move, as it had sunk into the ground about 3 inches. It was like trying to drive with the wheels chocked.
Ah, but it was funny afterwards.

Reminds me of my fly fishing adventures. We did that with my mate's Nissan FWD trying to cross a spring . Cops found us at 2am & winched us out after a few SA remarks. Funny thing was they got bogged on the way back. As good citizens, we of course, offered our help

Thanked: 983Now that's funny. Always a nice feeling being able to have a laugh at someone when they get a little of their own back. Even better, is when they laugh at themselves. You know they got a decent character to them then.
