    Default Alternative to MAAS

I found this in the local Home Hardware store.

I've given up trying to find the MAAS metal polish the yanks are always going on about. I thought I'd give this stuff a go. Works well, as you can see. The right of the blade is before, the left is after about two minutes of buffing.

It is made in Solingen too, which should be a hint.

Damn, now I want to go and polish up the blade of my beautifully patina'd old Gotta...Good thing I leave it out on the property, otherwise it may have gotten all shined up today.

You guys in Australia are always talking about stuff we in the states
    cannot get.

Kidding aside the auto store will often have metal polish that
works well on steel. It looks like you have found a good
    product.

Make no deals with the Aussies! When they stop hogging the kangaroos and koalas, then they can have some MAAS!

    Legion,

    Autosol works very well

I also occasionally use JB Compound, Gold Medallion (RemClean), Flitz & Iosso Bore Paste (all mostly used for cleaning rifle bores), and these work well too.

    Have fun !

    Best regards

    Russ
