Thread: Strop fittings

G'day there

Can anybody tell me where I can find fittings for making a hanging strop in Brisbane area
Looking for

D rings with hanging loop/s : 2&1/2"
metal joiner pieces : 2/12"
Handle
Chicago Screws or studs 1/8"

I have purchased a nice piece of veg tanned leather 2&1/2" wide
I checked out the local hobby shops and craft suppliers, even Spotlight
A look at the older barber shops in the area turned up nothing usable
Sadly most have lost many years of collectible stock in the massive January floods we had this year.
So far I have drawn a blank on this

Have a chat with one of the local saddleries. They should be able to put you onto some.

Get in contact with MickR from the forums. He makes 'roo skin strops and should have all the knowledge.

Have you tried 'Town and Country' at One Mile?

Rick PM me your address I can send you a few bits and pieces that will help you out. I get my stuff from Packers Tannery at Nerangba and also order in hard to find bits from Lefflers Saddlery down south (Melbourne if I remember correctly).

It's great to see somebody from the Ipswich side of town on here
I was beginning to wonder if anyone in Ipswich area is on SRP
I have checked out Town & Country, and they have a few parts I'm after
No larger D rings and loops.
