Thanked: 203Really i'm Gunna........
Yeah, yeah - i'm gunna make blades again... really.
Had a heap of hassles in the place we are renting and decided the best fix {not just that, but timing for market, etc.} was to finally buy our first house.
i had already dismantled the old multi-tool, drawn up plans and started collecting parts to build my new Super Grinder, but the decision to buy came before i bought the steel for the frame. Just about finished the new workbench it will be mounted on, but all monies are going into buying a house, so the grinder is on hold again.
Anyhoo - we just bought a place on Saturday. Get the keys at the end of August. Have to spend a little time painting and eventually re-do kitchen and bathrooms. But before those rooms i have to build a workshop. Yep - no dedicated work shop there yet. In the short term i will use the garage, but there is already a concrete slab in the backyard so i will build a free standing workshop there that will allow me to work at night without keeping everyone awake and complaining. Finally !!!
So it's good news, but a frustrating wait. i have materials for several knives and razors collected, designed and ready to go as soon as i get the grinder finished. They will be started in the garage at the new house, so though the hours i can work on them will be limited it will help calm the nerves..
Once the workshop proper is built, everything will ramp up.
So yeah... gunna get back to it..... really..just watch this space.....

Can't wait Adam, especially if you happen to make a scale-less straight. I'll be all over that.

Thanked: 983Onya Adam. Stay patient mate. I understand what yer sayin'. I'm doing a basic resto (new one piece handle) on an old butcher knife at the moment, and it just seems like one delay after another with the damn thing. Lukily it is a family members knife and not one for a paying customer type person, otherwise I'd be in the shit by now.
