Thread: I have a huge favour to ask you all

My wife and I are heading back to Gippsland in a few weeks for my mother's 60th birthday. While I am there I would like to visit an antique shop or two, looking for some razors.

Any chance you guys could stay away from antique stores for a while to let the herd thicken a little.

The last time I was back in Oz each time I went to an antique store they would say they had some razors, but some guy was in here just the other week and bought them all.

I, too, will happily avoid Gippsland and all it's relics. It really is no trouble at all to avoid Gippsland, as I just have never had a burning desire to go there. I have heard that the kids down that way can count to twelve on there fingers...Some education they run in the schools down that way. That's a credit to them down south that's for sure...

The really funny thing is that you are not too far from the truth. Some parts of Gippsland are like Deliverance country. Take Morwell for example. There are some parts of that town, where if you find yourself driving at night, you'd better lock your car doors.


They say coal dust is mildly radioactive. It could have done something to the locals.

But then again, they might have always been a bit stange. I remember a story from the 1930's when they were building the power stations in the Latrobe Valley. Somewhere in the Trafalgar area an old hunch backed lady died. She was roumered to be a witch. She didn't stay in the ground for very long. I remember it being said that my Nana didn't sleep for a week. They eventually found this old woman in a hut that had been occupied by workers building one of the power stations.


So if you listen carefully you can almost hear the bajos playing at night...
