Thanked: 0Attention: Melbourne Honing Experts
Do we have any honing experts in Melbourne? I have a project I'd like to talk about.
I guess this also goes for any experts from anywhere else who are able/going to be in Melbourne some point soon.

Thanked: 983Is it something that has to be done in Melbourne or could the Sydney Guru, Oz (Onimaru55), be able to assist. Just means adding on the cost of return postage to the cost of whatever has to be done of course, but, if all else fails...I know there are members that will be able to help with honing around your neck of the woods though.

Thanked: 0It's something that would need to be done in person.
The project was pretty much to do some instructional videos at a high quality. I know there are a bunch of videos already, and there are some great ones; but there is usually a quality problem. For example gssixgun is amazing, however his videos don't really show much detail and theyre in a lower quality.
It would also be great to have someone to teach me how to hone.

Well, I managed to teach myself to hone well enough. I understand your desire to have someone come along and show you though. I had young Jimbo up there come and check my technique before I was sure I was doing it just fine. Well, Jimbo gave his nod of approval anyway, and he sure knows what he's doing. The last cut I ever received from a razor was one he had honed, and I was sure that bugger was at least a centimetre off my face at the time I got cut too!

Thanked: 0Well yeah, I've figured that if there is someone in Melbourne that can hone well and is willing to take some time to teach me it would be beneficial to put out a high quality and detailed video with some of the stuff I can't find good quality/detailed information on and what not. If not I guess I'll just try and learn myself anyway!
