Thanked: 203back in the restoration game
Soooo..where were we last?? oh yeah...SWMBO has me selling my truck {and looks like she has just given it away for a workshop less than i wanted} but had given me the okay to turn the spare room out back into a workshop. Just needed the money from the truck to get that and my grinder done and pay for her new car....... looks like just her new car now...
Anyhow - three days ago, out of the freakin' blue, my dear old Mum tells me she is selling up in Sydney and moving up here to Queensland to be near the grandkids. Good, but really unexpected. Sucky timing too as the house right next door just sold the day before she tells me. Not to mention half a dozen others within two blocks in the last month.... Yeah - people are starting to realise i live here now.
Anyhoo - what has this to do with razors i hear you ask?
Well now Mum needs to sell her house and she and one of my two sisters living with her are moving into my place. {big family fued about the move and the other sister is staying in Sydney and disowning us}. Soo.. Mum gets the spare room. Sister gets the other spare room that was about to become a workshop. My temporary workshop in the garage will be filled with all their earthly belongings.. Then we find a house for them up here and go through the buying and moving thing. They are also bringing Mum's dog. My dog likes company but is an outside dog {Border Collie} and Mum's is an inside little fuzzy yapper thing. And my sister's cat. i firmly believe the only good cat is a dead cat {have shot quite a few...as i would guess Mick may have also had to do? } and my dog believes the same thing. Of course, whatever she buys will need cleaning and painting and maybe some other renos before she moves... then i get to play removalist...
Fun, fun, fun - we all live for the fun. Yeah - i AM happy Mum is moving nearby. But the grinder and workshop are on hold for a while...yet again...
i have also taken on a few razor honing jobs lately and have many people asking for razors, so in the short term, i am going back to restorations. i can do them without power tools and sitting under the verandah by the pool.{yeah, life is harsh }
Sooo..watch this space. i am gonna start shopping for some razors that need some TLC and then will begin some restorations, posting pics as i go of course. i will save the profits from these to go towards the grinder and workshop once i get Mum settled. Should only be a few months...... It's all good... It's all good... It's all good.......

Thanked: 983Best of luck Adam. I feel for ya mate. Onions and mushrooms with that braised cat meat piled into a nice flakey pastry for some pussy cat pie ;D. No, I'm not a cat fan and I've done in a few ferals in my time. I wouldn't be so harsh if they could be contained to their house yards like dogs are. They hunt not to eat (sometimes that's the case of course), but for pleasure, killing native wildlife just for the sake of it.
Back on topic now...I hope all goes well for your Mum and sisters.
