So, an accompaniment to my boots thread. A jackets thread. I need a new jacket to wear with jeans; brown boots, brown belt. Thinking of this one from here: VITO | Vito Blazer at ASOS

I have nothing to say at the moment but wanted to be the first to reply.
after some thought I would go with a brown shade for the jacket to match your belt and shoes.
I like the handkerchiefs. For the jacket, keep in mind that the nontraditional single button will stand out - so unless that's part of the sell for you, you may want to find one with two buttons instead.
I personally like the cut, I have no occasion for it though :)

I haven't owned one in maybe 30 years. Not bragging at all ..... I ought to have one for special occasions ..... haven't had any of those in 30 years either ...... :p
I had a Harris Tweed that I liked quite a bit. Gave it to a friend when I moved from the cold to a tropical climate. That would look spiffy with jeans and boots if you were in a cooler climate.
You must be work in the best dressed prison in Australia... I would think dressing down would be the norm for that environment? To muchh flash makes you look like you have to much cash..

The army pretty much provides my dress clothes. That said, I have a custom blue, black and gray suit. One from England and 2 from Korea. The gray one is an exact duplicate of 007's from "From Russia With Love". I also have a tuxedo I had made in Bulgaria with both black and white dinner jackets.
As for the black leather outfit, that's pretty cool. If you want to look like a gay Mighty Morphin Power Ranger.

Yes, I do wonder at myself sometimes. I've worked there for 15 years and I guess I've sort of built up to being a little more stylish. My wife told me I'd get raped or bashed or both. They can't do anything WITH cash anyway; it's a cashless society...I think adding little things to your day like vintage cufflinks, nicely polished boots, an umbrella adds some nicety to one's day. I have one of these, I'm thinking this would be perfect for you, a known classic smart yet casual all at the same time the colour stone would mix and match with both jeans and trousers, I have the older vintage model in this jacket, really practical and it looks great on, and I'll guarantee this will always be fashionable but never out of fashion. a Barbour International.

You could always dress it down to this on the hotter days. I was thinking in your job, flanno might just be the ducks guts! Just be careful around the inmates...and co-workers for that matter, if you dress it down to just the Kilt and shirt :p! Unless you've accessorised with the optional sword from the first picture. ;)

Nice jeans dressed up is a look these days - even presidents pull this off in a casual setting. So I don't think you need to worry about whether any one of these elements specifically is over the line, but rather that the outfit as a whole pulls together. And that'll depend squarely on your own style. My own sense is that pocket squares are popular right now, so you won't be risking anything by trying it.Quote:
