Well the work hat s definitely the senior of them all, but the Wedding hat comes next at 10 years old now, and still looks new (probably because it has been worn only a few times since
).
The Flat cap knows reliable and cost effective when it see's it, so is happy to hang around with a bic lighter, instead of those stuck up Dunhill and Ronson's and being a good workin' man hat that the flat cap is it is also happy to hang around with Redheads and Zippo's. It might also have something to do with both the hat and the pipe being Irish too. Nothing ostentatious or pretentious about the Irish 
.
