I reload for .270win and .223rem, not sure on the gear as a mate is nice enough to let me use his, and I'm not there now.

He's geared up for reloading more calibre than I can ever imagine owning!

I have been frustrated with the costs of shooting. I love to shoot and it was getting difficult. The other day I was at the range and they had a used MEC Grabber for sale. On an impulse I bought it along with the makings for 500 rounds of 12 guage skeet loads. I then came home built a bench and loaded them up over the course of a couple days. I think I may like this to the point I am looking to equip for matalics as well. Just what I need something else to spend money on...although it's much cheaper then buying factory ammo all the time

I reload .45acp using Bullseye, Universal, and Clay Dot powders with Win primers. I also reload 20ga using 20/28 powder, noble sport primers and 12ga with Clay Dot, noble sport primers. For me, it's a hobby/therapy.

I too reload, I enjoy mostly flintlock but shoot a modern rifle out to 1000yards. To be successful reloading is a must, half the fun is playing with hand loads and seeing the results.

Being an old thread, they were correct about the scarcity of lead wheel weights. Getting tough to find em. Fortunately my father has picked em um, put em in his pocket for years. We've almost used up a five gallon bucket pouring 25, 40, 45 ca, and 9mm round nose target slugs. Been through a second bottle of Alox lube.
And I just found where the sheriffs department recycles their brass. Their boss wasn't in, gonna check their price per pound to see if it's economical.

Probably been said before, but wheel weights are not pure lead. They're pretty hard which is can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on what type of bullet you cast and how you load it. Wheel weights are notoriously dirty as well, you'll really need to flux your melt with beeswax or similar and clean the dross off the top a couple of times to get rid of most of the sand and slag.

Last weights I used, were so hard I had a hard time running them through my luber sizer.

I used to cast minies for my .58 but have had a tough time with fouling since being in AZ. Not sure what the problem is but I can't shoot more than 2 or 3 rounds before having to clean the bore...I should/used to be able to shoot all day accurately after a couple "fouling" rounds.

I have about 30 lbs of pure lead waiting a solution...Other than than I purchase bullets and reload for my modern centerfires.

    I use a Dillon 500 for .45acp, .40, .38/.357, 9mm and .223.

That is, when I can get powder.
