Textured paints are a bit pricey, but they really are fantastic. On an old house like mine, it hides the fact that I don't have a single wall that isn't flat or smooth... and it defects light giving dead spaces depth.

What it doesn't do though, is provide a smooth surface! Hence, when my punk 5yr old takes a permanent marker and draws on the wall... in five different places!!

I have tried soap and water, and "goo-be-gone" to no avail. Heck, the wall is so course it shreaded the sponge. Any ideas??

Any help would really go a long way as I can't even look at my daughter!
