    Gentlemen,

I wrote this little dog story for my publisher blog at Figlo Press. You might enjoy it, and thanks for reading.

Well written Obie. Your story took me back to the land of red dirt stains, c-rats, triple canopy bush, wait a minute's, saddle up's, mad minutes, toe poppers, never enough morphine or pressure bandages, giant rats, tunnels, anger, lost brothers, panic and the calm before, dust off's, distinct sounds of ak's, smoke grenades, men crying and moaning, trip wire, body bags, vicks vapor rub, and on and on and on.

Thanks for sharing the writing Obie

Bob, my friend, indeed, Vietnam was a different life, a different world, and it will always be part of our lives, yours and mine. Thanks for the kind words.

What a great little memory told in an outstanding story. Brought back my own memories of a past time that are also foggy and hard to remember and don't spend a lot of time trying but it sure was nice to hear of such a fond memory of yours Obie. Thanks.

Dogs are good medicine for the soul. Only a soldier understands the loneliness felt while deployed, a dog would be a welcomed friend indeed.
