Good looking piece of wood, and very nice knife. Love that old carbon steel.

How thick is the wood between the face and the magnet? I have been thinking of a similar project for my carbon steel collection.

Just trying to finish a Loom for a member,made him a matching DE stand and brush also.
All Maccasser ebony and Ivory inlay.

I'm mid-way through a project for a razor, brush and soap bowl stand.
It needs final assembly, sanding and finishing. That will take a bit of time before pics can be posted.

Here's a kitchen knife and block I made recently. Figured maple, cocobolo, white corian and 1095.

The wood is a little less than a quarter inch. The magnets are 1 inch in diameter. The smaller the magnet, the closer it needs to be to the surface of the board.
