Thanked: 13245So do we have any "Chromies" in the house
I have to admit I am getting a little excited after the Preakness today, I liked the Rags to Riches story of the Kentucky derby winner California Chrome from the start..
After today's win and the second jewel, Chrome and DAP have proved that it wasn't a fluke and this horse has real potential
By accounts this is the 13th time since 1978 that a horse has taken the 2nd Jewel and we still haven't seen a Triple Crown winner since Affrimed won

Thanked: 1184I am rootin' for him. I would lay money down but I'm broke. And I have to say I only bet on sure things :<0)
The way he finishes a race is the same as many of the old greats. Distance is not his problem at all.Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

Yep, I'm hooked on the whole team of California Chrome. What a story...cheap horse, 77 year old trainer, great jockey and owner who looks like he's playing a movie role....I love it (plus I'm originally from Baltimore).

I'm rooting for California Chrome, too! I would love to see another Triple Crown winner...I was only 23 when Affirmed did it (suffice it to say that I'm MUCH older, now).
I don't watch horse racing at any other time of the season...and it's difficult to even watch these three races. My problem? I can't bear to see those magnificent creatures go down. I've seen horses break legs during a race, and that's a terrible thing to see. Thankfully, it doesn't happen often. When you are dead, you don't know that you are dead. It's difficult only for the others.
It's the same when you are stupid.
