Thanked: 4827I do salt water fishing too. Different water and different fish. I'm all about the salmon and the halibut, throw in the odd ling cod. My first year without a boat of my own actually

That is awesome. I would LOVE to do some fishing in the Pacific Northwest for some salmon and REAL halibut. As you can see from the pics, halibut don't get very big in SoCal/Mexico.

Thanked: 4827that looks like what we call an Arrow Tooth Flounder. They are great for bait. If you look on a map were are the migratory vortex for all of the pacific salmon. It doesn't matter where they came from they all come here as part of the salt water migration. So the salmon and halibut fishing is generally very good. The whale watching can be spectacular as well. I had a hard time telling tour operators in Hawaii that there was no way the whale watching could possibly better than at home.
