Thanked: 1184Hi my name is Jerry and I am an ice cream junkie. I use about a half pint of topping every night. No kidding. Straw berries, blue berries, raspberries, bananas, chocolate or caramel syrup, anything and everything. A half gallon of ice cream lasts 2 nights and I do this every night and have since I was a kid. The only reason I don't stop is because.... I don't have to :<0) I did put on some weight and got up to 185. I blame this on Star Bucks. I have cut my habit of venti caramel frapp down to 3 a week instead of everyday. Lost 10 pounds the last 2 weeks. 5' 11" sugar consuming machine and can't help it.
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

When I used to eat it a pint at a sitting. Ben & Jerrys, Haggan Daz ....... I haven't eaten ice cream in years though, nor had a soda pop.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 18I usually do a small cereal bowl. I eat a lot more ice cream in the winter than the summer. Summers I rarely eat it but in the dead of winter probably twice a week

Thanked: 25Regular ice cream, 3 big scoops in a cereal bowl. Ben and Jerrys, well, I figure if they put it into a container that small, it must be 1 serving! When I worked 3rd shift during the summer, I would come home and have a bowl of ice cream...parents thought I was nuts! But it's hot walking thru non air conditioned dorms and buildings all night long!

it's not so much the portion size as the daily total of the bad stuff in the Ice Cream. If you watch your fat and sugar for the day you can have more. For me a 1/2 pint is about right but I only eat ice cream in the summer and even then it's only once every few weeks.

My doc also said I didn't have to glucose test twice a day if I didn't want to. I now test about every week and a half, varying between breakfast, lunch and dinner. Numbers are in the range they should be because I've retrained myself to a decent veggie based diet that I'm not straying from.
Sometimes boring and I will admit to an occasional lapse with a maple bar or a piece of chocolate cake, as long as it isn't daily or every other day or so. ( a DFS is sometimes a reason to 'celebrate'). *Like today*"The sharpening stones from time to time provide officers with gasoline."

Thanked: 1587You Americans are nuts! You drink a pint, you don't eat it! (unless it's Guinness, maybe...)
Ice cream? I eat 2 scoops of a dessert spoon of ice cream maybe once a month, or even less regularly than that. IIRC, the last time I ate ice cream was June.
Not a huge dessert person. I'd much prefer a nice cheese and fruit plate to be honest.
