Default Vintage Porro prism 8X30 binoculars

Anyone else have a soft spot for vintage porro prism binoculars especially 8X30s? I can't seem to pass them by. I really like their compactness and the way they fit my big mitts, better than modern roof prism designs do. Picked these up the other day, AOG (Pentax) from the mid 1950s at a guess.

Here is a pair of Bausch & Lomb Zephyr 8X30s from when they were still made in the USA. The 8X30 versions are not too common apparently.

Got a pair of Zeiss 7X35's that dad brought back from WWII. They were reputed to be a battlefield capture in Italy where dad was stationed.

Eyepiece cracked on one side and Zeiss doesn't repair glasses that old anymore.

They still work pretty good considering.

Nowadays I have a pair of small folding Zeiss 8x20 or some such that fit nicely in your pocket. Handy as heck when perched in a tree looking at the Bambi's.
