That is a great thing you did there Hirlau, should be good for another 100 years and then some.

It was one of those things that had to be done,,, used up all my "shaving goodies" & hones money for 3 months,,,

Probably due in part with the fact that we have become such a disposable society. It seems like everyone wants everything cheaper and sooner. No regards for quality, or waste. Developed societies generate an incredible amount of garbage every day. Don't save an old item, throw it away and buy a new one. I'm glad that there are still people around wanting to stop and look after a few things here and there.

Patina and character is not so great for old family Bibles if you want to pass them down a few more generations. Looks to me like 6 months worth of razor allowance would have been worth it. Thanks for sharing :<0)
