Thanked: 13245RC Quadcopter
I know we have people here on SRP that are into many hobbies so looking for a little help here gents
I would really like to get a Quadcopter that has at least rudimentary Pic /Vid capabilities
Outdoor use is a must have, so I guess a larger one is in order and honestly I think preferred
Have flown RC airplanes High and Low wing so I have some skills but have never touched a Helicopter or a Quadcopter so I guess Auto-Zero / Hover would be a good thing for a novice..
I have been reading about every review on Amazon for the past couple of days and have become over analytical on them now,
Thinking From Glen To Glen for Christmas I would like to keep it at $200 or less, please not that $700 plus one from DJI that is just too much $$$ for a toy
Anyone have some ideas ???? Brands/Models I should look at
TIA

Thanked: 105Think about building one?
If you want good pics/vid think about a gopro camera.
Lot of options out there, comes down to what you want to do and how much you are willing to spend.
GPS navigation from a lap top or smart phone for ease of use to RC control, 4 or 6 axis. camera mount, gimbal or digital stabilized.
battery life low end models 2 to 5 minutes. repair parts available?
I could go on and on, but then this may give you something to think of that you have not already asked your self?
I talked to some guys at the University that were flying one, left with more questions then then answers, Aero Space Engineering dept..
If I learn something, I will pass it on. Right now I have more questions then answers.

So you are willing to just take for granted that the "shot" that you want to take happened or you want to see what the camera sees?
If the former, any decent sized quad is capable of hauling a go pro. If the later, you are looking at "FPV" (first person viewing) and not available within your parameters. Of course, the former isn't either if you include the cost of the camera...
Here is a website that seems to have their stuff together in what they are sellling. Their prices are competitive.
the GetFPV.com FPV Equipment StoreThe easy road is rarely rewarding.

Thanked: 3The one bit of information that was suggested to me when I first started was to buy toys first. The reason being if I can learn to fly the "cheap" toy quads then I should be able to fly the expensive ones. I've read about people loosing their $1200. copters the first time out. Sometimes things happen and the quad just goes about it's merry way no matter what you do with the controls. I don't know about you but that would make me rather ill.
Just a thought.

There is a big difference between the cheap toy quality Rc products and the hobby grade products. Hobby grade are precision and designed to be rebuilt. Flight stability is superior to toy grade.

Thanked: 1184I thought about one of those when I lived down the road from a nudist colony :<0) Then one day I got called to do some work inside the place. Some things are better left to the imagination. I have looked at a bunch of them myself and the price your looking at is mostly a starter set. Which after the novelty wears off will seem like a lot. Unless you have an actual use for it. Would be fun at a football game or the like.
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.
