I've never seen them that friendly. They are usually much angrier and trying to steal the fish off the line, and much bigger.

I fish for salmon off Buoy 10 near Astoria, Oregon. The seals are not our friends, as they steal the salmon right off out line. They always seem to know when I've hooked a big one. They should have to work for their catch, just like I do, rather than expect me to do the work for them. Then they just want to lie around on the rocks taking in the sun, burping, farting, and snoring. Damn seals. Thanks for the video.

For years a bunch of sea lions took over Pier 39 in San Francisco. It was funny being there during mating season and watching all the tourist try to explain to their young kids what was going on. Sea Lions don't have a lot of "discretion".

Yea, it was pretty nasty and loud. Not sure why they chose that location, but once they did it was illegal to move them so the dominated the area for years. Originally Posted by rolodave
