the apple hasnt fell far from the tree !
well my youngest gets in trouble at school !! i get a call from his teacher , she says bla bla bla and that my son has requested his homework for Nov 11th cause he wont be in school cause he has to go check his traps and catch coons and a coyote !! she laughed until i told her that he seems to be catching a cold and may have a Dr. appointment that day .
well it turns out him and my other kids were all sick the same day and i just couldnt leave them home alone !! if you look in the picture you can just tell how ill he is !!! poor kid !!
im glad he is feeling better now but it is odd how they seem to get sick the same days every year !!
hhhmmm education + very important !

Thanked: 4827I have always had a fixation on salt water halibut and salmon fishing. One of the kids at my house is an excellent mariner, her and I skipped quite a few days of school. She was also fairly motivated when it came to school, so we would have skipped a lot more if it was up to me. The rest of the kids didn't like the water, so we had to have extra fun to make up for them.
It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

Nothing like a cold Ohio day in the woods. That young man reminds me of me. Coon was more my grandpas thing, mine was anything that had to do with water and any small game. My favorite thing on earth was squirrel. I hope he carries on what you have taught him. No matter were I live Ohio will always be home.

Thanked: 1160I remember growing up in Northern Michigan, the whole town practically got sick on the first day of Deer season. When I worked at the local factory as a young man, we would lose like half the plant on that day. Ahh to grow up Midwestern .

We used to get opening day off of rifle season in school since most of the kids wouldn't show up anyway, but they changed that a few years ago.

Growing up the school didn't count absences on the first day of both bow and shotgun season for deer. It seemed that every year there was some kind of epidemic and they were lucky if the teachers showed up those day.
