I put it in a plastic bag with the end open. I was warned about molding issues doing that. I found a couple of spots forming and the crack continued where it left off. Oh well. I took it out of the bag and it is drying much faster. The crack is forming in the same place but I think that it would have done it anyway and I might as well let it go. I will have to give in to the modern thing and let it crack as much as it will and glue it.
I think it may be a problem with my design. As if I had one in the beginning! I made the handle more in the shape of a ladle and it has a sharp angle where it meets the bowl. Some of the more traditional ones have a short handle that round into the bowl in a very gradual way.

You can certainly tell it is not turned on a lathe like your work! I may have been premature in saying that it is done...
The coffee stained more and quicker than I figured. I dribbled on the side when I drank and it was ugly. I rubbed coffee on the outside and it matched well but then it raised the grain. Some wet dry paper helped that but has some light spots that will certainly clear with use. The handle has a crack that i knew was there but with moisture is showing more. I am going downstairs and put a rivet in it to hold it tight.
I will post pictures in a while once the "patina" shows up!

Pro tip--
When you're drying down the finished product, whether you're turning or carving from wet wood, try using a 3-ply envelope made from newspaper. I've found that the 3-ply sack is just right to dry it down in 3-4 days max without going too fast and causing splits or checking. I've successfully dried spoons and kuksa so thin you can see light through them this way.

I hope that you guys from earlier are still seeing this thread.
About a year later here is my latest project. It is Black Walnut but when I cut the wood it is all sapwood and there is no black. When I cut the bark off it got smaller than I thought. The burl is far from round but I have to follow nature!
I am going to give it up for tonight before i goof something up.
