    Default Finally .22 Becoming Available

After what seemed to be the longest of droughts .22 LR ammunition appears to be on the road to availability. I was able to pick up 650 rounds of Federal and 1,400 rounds of Remington for about $125.00 (Bass Pro). Now that's not bad at all. Finally going to be able to crack out the Ruger 10/22 and rekindle memories of how much fun it is to shoot.....

I compete in an AR 22 League and you use the stuff by the case between practice and meets....

Sorry but I think the price is still too high. Berofr moving down to Florida in 2007 I bought four 500 round box's for $10-$12 each. To me that is an affordable price. The scare tactics has caused hording and driven the price of all ammo to rediculous heights.

Still have horders here, but at least it's breaking loose a bit. I managed to pick up a couple hundred rounds last time I made it to Academy. My grandson was not liking our lack of shooting....

i still keep thinking about my dad buying .22 every time he went to the store about 15-20 yrs ago .. even though he never shot it ..

the last couple months Dick's sporting goods has had it and every one is buying it as fast as they put it out in bulk packages ... i think i saw some 50 round packs of federals for $2.99 the other day ..

lately i have been messing around with the kids airsoft guns to practice quick transitions from rifle to pistol as well as house clearing drills ..

    Hello to All,

You should try living in the UK

A 500 round brick of 0.22LR Eley Subsonic Hollow Points costs me ca. 90 USD.

Still, we didn't/don't seem to have the drought of 0.22LR that you had/have in the USA : we did have the primer drought a few years ago - I couldn't get Federal GM210 primers for love or money The GM210 primers came back into supply last year, but are now ca. 65 USD for 500

    Have fun

    Best regards

    Russ

I'm glad the price is finally coming down. I have some cans and bottles that keep smart mouthing me that I need take care of...LOL!

I'm not a hunter, I have hunted in the past and would again if need be to keep from going hungry, which at the present I don't have to worry about. I just love to shot, cans and bottles being my favorite targets. I never did fully understand the big scare that caused all the hoarding.........

Can you just imagine the mountains of 22LR out there in closest and under beds...
And what will happen when (and there is always a when..."no tree grows to the sky" as they say) this "bubble" bursts?

When people will pay $75 for a 550 brick that used to sell for under $15 a short while ago...there is gold in them thar hills..
Once the sellers at gun show weekends see their sales drop to near 0 and the discounting spiral starts it will collapse like Tulip Bulbs in the early 1600s...

I'm glad to see 22lr showing up in stores, however at a price point I will not support. When things started getting scarce and cost prohibitive I started to reload and change calibers that were cheaper. Now I reload 5.56, 7.62 45acp and 500s&w( that one is not cheap but I gotta have a big boom somewhere). Hopefully the trend continues to increase the availability so the sport can flourish.
