    Default DIY

I love to make things/stuff. I love to think and learn new things. Some things are just so simple like a Straight Razor. Big Business wants us to believe that things are more complicated than they are and they should supply is with some expensive gadget. What have you or do you make yourself?

Here is my second version of a TV antenna. The first one used a 1X3 piece of wood and cost nothing. 1/2 hour to make and I wanted to prove it worked. It did, better than any store bought one I tried. This one cost me about $5 for the bolts and washers and took 3 lunch breaks that I am paid for! I am money ahead.

My Grandma is probably rolling over in her grave to see the picture she painted hanging so crooked but I am not going to take more pictures.

This is a DB4 design. The sections are made to be adjustable but I get 39 channels the way it is in one direction.

When I was little, our TV antenna was a clothes hanger with tin foil hanging on it,,,,,

I know copper wire would work better but I need to use the coat hangers out of principle!

    ,,,,,,,,,,

We also had a car that had no reverse that worked, sometimes the old man would forget & we had to all get out & push it backwards to get it out of certain spots.

First the old car in your yard that you use for storage and now the homemade TV antennas I swear you could be living net door to me.

Oh and now the car with no reverse. We grew up in the same neighborhood!

You know you are a Redneck if your car AND house are up on blocks!

OH jeeez Hirlau your reminded me of a Jeep I had for awhile. I learned you can still drive without a clutch. Start in low and shift without a clutch. Also dead battery no problem. Jeeps are light and push start almost as easy as a motorcycle.

To add to the thread my list of DIY stuff is sooo long there isn't enough time. I couldn;t buy a vise big enough to hold the hydralic rams I needed to repack so I made one. jaws opened 2 feet and it would hold 8 inch dia. cylinders. Picture a welding oxygen tank in a vice. How about an off road floor jack, good for trips across sand in the desert. Wish I had pics of all the stuff but x got custody of my memories.

Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.
