Wow. Hey! Thanks for posting these. You're son has really shot up. I feel the same way about animals in zoos but as you say there is a purpose too. People start to learn about them and become advocates for their preservation which is a great thing. Also, I learned that many animals at zoos are there for one reason or another such as an injury or someone's pet at one time where they wouldn't make it on their own in the wild or at least the cards would be stacked against them. Not all but some of them. So they are ambassadors for their kind.
At any rate it was really cool to look at these pix. Thanks again.Last edited by Steel; 12-24-2014 at 06:42 AM.
What a curse be a dull razor; what a prideful comfort a sharp one

They were typical lions,,, sleeping all day. There was a Jaguar in an enclosure, but the photo would have been horrible, as there was so much protection around him. He was huge, as big as the lions & 3 times the security wire.
I hope I can see Africa before they are all gone, I hate the cages too, but what can we do but try to make their conditions better & bigger.

Thanked: 1184I was just trying to lighten things up :<ob..... The animal jail thing was getting me down. It is nice to see critters without having to go into the wild. Most never would. I just hate to see the ones pacing. Other than that a zoo is a cool place to spend the day.

Love the Florida Panthers support...I certainly hope they are taken off the "endangered species" list soon!

Thanked: 3224Looks like you had a good and enjoyable day out at the zoo with your son. That will be always something you remember like the time before.
I am of 2 minds on the zoo thing. One the one hand I do not like to see wild animals caged and on the other so very few people actually get to see a lot of these animals in the wild. Combine that with the fact that I do not think seeing vids/photos of animals in the wild, no matter how will done, leaves the same impression as seeing them in person even if it is at a zoo.
I really hope that you can get to Africa to see these in the wild, well worth the effort.
