    Default Just purchased this Bromeliad

    Saw this at the grocery store and had to have it.
    One of the coolest Bromeliad's I have ever seen.

    Yes sir. This is an Aechmea Bromeliad (pronounced EEK-me-uh) called, "Del Mar" from Kent's Bromeliads in Vista, CA.

    He is the largest grower of these plants in the nation his literature says with a 30 acre nursery with more than 100 varieties of Bromeliads.

    He holds patents to 25 hybrids as well. Would love to visit that place!

    Used to have many of them (at least 30)Interesting Plants (epipyhts) SP?
    No root systems.They just suck water out of the air,Spray them every few days with a mister.

    Yes pix they, like orchids are epiphytes.
