Thanked: 4206Turned pens
Hey gents.
I started making pens this Christmas as an extra Christmas present idea for family.
I like to give items with sentimental or hand crafted roots, and these have become rather fun to crank out.
I've used ebony, shedua, anigre, walnut, Birdseye maple, and Sapele so far.
Have been well received and appreciated by those I've given them out to.
Just figured I'd share. If you have a lathe, really easy project to take on.
Kits start at like 6 bucks and fabrication takes a few hours with finish drying time taking the lions share.

Yep turning pens is pretty fun.
EASY enough that you can do it
But hard enough to make you get used to using your tools correctly!
Nice Job!

Thanked: 4206Definitely good little projects to learn tool hold for sure Ed!
There's lots of kit choices as well. Lee valley is where I got my first, but penn industries, woodchuckers out east all have some as well.
