Looks like the US is fated to win this one. Not a bad team, just not as entertaining as some of the others. The French team was a joy to watch, and the semi between Japan and England was far more entertaining than the one between Germany and the US, which was ruined by a terrible match official.

    Good luck to them.

P.S. Hope Solo is a terrible Keeper. She relies on athleticism, rather than skill. Pick ANY of the other Keepers in the quarters (except McLeod), and the US would be better off

I have been enjoying all the games. These women have some serious heart and spirit in the game they love. Even more, the lack of constant showboating that the men cannot seem to walk away from is rarely seen with the female teams. At this point may the best team win. i am slightly partial to the U.S.A. Women's team.

They would be the unquestioned #1 team in the world. How many times do you see Solo scrambling to palm a ball over the bar, or around the posts. Happens way more than it should for a Keeper at that level. Your post is indicative of why she gets a "pass" for most of it . . . she is a very attractive woman with a very athletic body. But tell me you would not feel more comfortable with a Keeper like the Dutch team or German team has? Solo puts unnecessary pressure on her back line and, indeed, her team's defensive mindset.

The comparison on the men's side would be to ask who would you rather? Michael Neuer from Germany, or Brad Guzan?
