Thread: Still smiling

Had another opportunity to go for a tour in the below last night, and IMO there is nothing more exhilarating or just plain cool to be able to do on a Friday night.

100 year old TigerMoth that served overseas and still performs beautifully.
I actually got to take the stick this time which will never be forgotten. Cruising top down at a leisurely 65 mph 2500 ft up is way better than on the ground..

Flew over my house and got to wag my wings so the missez could see us and touched down on 5 different fields in Central Ontario before we lost the light and tucked her in for the night.
My respects and appreciation to both the owner, and my friend Eiler for the pleasure.
Happy to share such events and hope you all get mental snapshot opportunities you do not miss.

No doubt! The Pitz is one of the coolest stunt planes out there..So lucky to have gone up in one.
I flew some acrobatic/inverted moves in a 42 Harvard with my uncle when I was a lad and the sensations are still burnt in my stomach. and on the canopy of the airplane probably.

The friend that owned the pitz was a cardiac surgeon (they are all nutcases) he offered to fly me from Palo alto airport to reno one day after work.
The airport was closed due to fog,he said we are going anyhow,turned off all his electronics and off we went.
Flew right thru the flightpath to SFO,I said we cannot see anything,he said if we get nailed by a 727 coming into SFO you will never know what happend.
One night he called and asked if i wanted to go for a ride,I said sure, but no aerobatics please.
He said only one,am going to loop the golden gate bridge,will only take an hour at the most,I declined, and he did it himself.Just nutz.
