    Default Hensoldt 8X39 Dialyt binoculars

I have a weakness for 8X30 binoculars, especially vintage ones. This came up at the local Salvation Army Thrift Store and for the price I could no resist the old girl. She came with the original leather case and looks well used but not abused. The optics appear clear and the lens coatings have no scratches. The usual problem of the paint separating from the alloy frame is there but can be rectified with care.

This bino design goes way back to before WWII. I believe this is a post war model but not certain. Zeiss took over Hensoldt in 1963 and produce their first 8X30 Dialyt in 1964. Long lived and popular model.
