Thanked: 4830We had our first big blow the night before last. Winds at 70kn and a lot of rain. There is another one that is suppose to peak out a little more than that that is brewing up right now. When the weather gets crazy here, there are no planes in or out and the ferry gets canceled. No mail and no freight. We only get two ferries a week so when you miss one it backs things up. So it is definitely fall here too. Winter is coming for sure.

I have noticed a big change in the tree foliage the last several days. I went hiking yesterday and the woods were very yellow.
p.s. Winter is Coming!

Thanked: 4830I want to go somewhere that gets gets a colorful fall. Ours leaves don't really change and fall off, they get ripped off in the wind. Some fall I will go for a very long drive in my car and see a lot of that.

The leaf in the photo is from an Aspen, which is rare around here. Our forests are mostly oak and hickory which aren't particularly colorful, lots of rusty shades. Notable exceptions are sumac (scarlet) and cottonwood (yellow). I'll try to take some more pics in terms next week.
