Thanked: 2209Goodies from an estate (tag) sale today and a question .......
Hey guys
Today I went to an estate (tag) sale and picked up a bunch of things.
My question is about the knives. What are they used for? Butchering? The blades, not including the handles, are 11" - 13" long.

Thanked: 39Those Knives look like some honed to death Old Hickory's. One's a fillet knife, the middle 2 are butcher knives that have seen the whet stone a few times!!.

Thanked: 4827That is quite the collection of stuff. New in box stuff is usually a pretty good find. The knives may still be ok for use, although they have already seen plenty. When they are honed down that far they get harder to use and harder to sharpen. Must have been a fun day. I am envious of those of you that are able to get out and go to these.
It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

Those knives look like some over-honed "skinning knives" I bought from an old fur buyer years ago.

Those knives remind me of a few that I have for filleting fish.
