Cuda you must be a little younger than I thought. Most Harley riders that I know will not ride any colder than their age!
I don't know what the temp was this morning but it felt a little warmer than yesterday morning. I stayed a little longer and had a lazy time in the sleeping bag.
I then harvested some of natures garden.

First and Foremost: DOB is 08/04/1953
I'm familiar with what appears to be fiddle head fern sprouts but the 'Ramps' I had to lookup. They do sound interesting. Seems that they have fallen into the 'gourmet' craze with chefs, foodies etc putting a huge demand on them.
Enjoy themOur house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.

You are not average then.....
I have heard about the craze and that is why I won't tell you within 300 miles of where they are.... People tend to abuse things and then wonder why they disappear.
They have a good flavor but I warn that if you eat one that your romantic life will take a serious downturn!

I read that you can use a very sharp knife and cut only the upper 2/3rds of the bulb and then refill the hole and the plant will continue to grow. But as we all should know (anyone can be an 'Expert' online).
Well since I don't have a romantic life go ahead and send me some to try. Pm and I'll give you the mailing address? Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.

My little driveway rock garden in the front yard. This Agave cactus is putting on a stalk this year. They only do this every 25 or 30 years and then they die.
The flowers will be blooming in a few weeks, more photos soon. BTW the "stalk" only took about 2 weeks to reach this height.
The stalks, when dried, are very light weight and strong as #$%^&!!!! They make great walking sticks and Didgeridoos.

The greenhouse at the university near us had an agave bloom a couple of summers ago. The plant itself was over six feet high and they had to remove panels from the roof for the stalk. I'll see if I still have a pic on my phone.
