I just read the news article from Summer 2015 about the plant in my pics. The plant is an Agave Americana approximately 6 feet tall with a stalk nearly 20 feet tall. The plant was estimated to be around 50 years old. It produced several pups that have been planted.

The pups are offshoots called bulbils.

Well as I said there would only be a few that would be ready I have my first 'Harvest' from my little strawberry patch:
Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.

for all you guys north of me don't be hating but my wife has been eating out of our garden for a couple of weeks and when the tomatoes ripen she will have a bunch every day from here on out
by the way Tim you dont many Harley guys do you? all the guys I ride with ride year round,,, and ive had many a trips during snow storms and 10 degree weather so unlles I,m 10 your theory isn't correct, heck when I rode to Iowa to Howards it started at 50 then the superstorm in Cape Mo. that I drove thru,,, give us some credit man

planted my first garden today...
did grape tomatoes, brandy wine tomatoes, sweet red peppers, jalapenos, hot cherry peppers...
cucumbers, zucchini and basil
