You had me at "Flask of Bourbon".

I motorcycle camp and keep a bug-out bag "at-the-ready" for just such an emergency. I'll get to my storage facility tomorrow, snap a few pics and post here. The flask will be empty in my bag but REST ASSURED, it is ONLY filled with Bourbon when I get the "GO" signal.

The Bourbon is for medicinal use only....

We basically already live where most people would want to "Bug out to"

But we keep a few things always ready just because it is after all the Boonies of North Idaho

Each rig has an emergency bag - Extra Socks, Boot, Gloves, Balaclava, Pinklady Candles, MRE, Waterproof Coat with Hood 1 Qt Canteen

The Mountain pack is a 3-day pack, we each have one, and it has everything for 3 days including a 3 man tent.

The Crates and Lock & Ride are good for a minimum of 10 days in Four Season comfort without us finding anything other than a water source and we have a 150-mile range without finding fuel. Which for us can put us in two different states or into Canada, with 100 miles of fuel left

These are of course not just for SHFT scenarios, they are used and replenished, in fact, we are going to a "Camp In Party" at the end of the month which is why everything was easy to take a pic of hehehe

We are prepared not for "Doomsday" but because there is a real chance of being without power and cut off from services, so we have to have the ability to continue as normal... All the things you would think like Generator, Water Pumps, Well, Septic, all these things are baked into our lives anyway

Here is mine. a T.H.E. Pack. I really like the organization this pack provides.
As you can see there are 2 trauma kits on the outside. I refresh my trauma training every 2 years.
Inside is enough protein pars and water filtration to sustain me and my 2 young boys for 3 days. Well actually I keep a small sack, that goes on the front top, for Julians food and formula. I rotate that stuff weekly.
Full med supplies in there as well, including splints and slings. There isn't much medically I can't treat with my pack.
Also inside is a means to start fire, knives and a small hatchet. As well as a small shelter tarp and Bivey and cooking utensils

IF we had to bust out and go we could. But it would probably be when we were int he truck to get home.
I also live in an area where most would want to bug out too

My bug out bag is my .45 and 3 extra clips, with thus I'll get what I want to survive with!

But I do have them in every vehicle, if only to make sure if stranded after an emergency or having to flee a hurricane my wife has the needed gear to be comfortable, cause if we're talking end of the world chaos and zombie attacks, all the bug out bag does is give you a few days, you want to be "ABLE AND KNOWLEGEABLE ON SURVIVING" not to mention willing to do the unthinkable to protect and provide for you and your own.

Now number one in your bag, Freddie you got it, the knife. With it you can survive, and your choice is a fine one. I have my Randall that I carried in the land of bad things, but your KaBar is one of the best, and 2 i really think the bourbons a good idea, that way you can get to that happy place one more time! KaBar are awesome knives, no doubt. But to be honest, the one in that bag is a Cold Steel "Leatherneck" with tanto point.
This knife has impressed me beyond belief. And if you own one, and are in the service, you can use it as your duty knife. So the quality is there

The KaBar has been carried in damn near every combat zone for the last 100 years for a reason, I had one too, but my dad before I left bought me the Randall for a shipping out gift, he had always told me his knife never ran out of bullets in Korea. Tc
