    I'm not that great, self taught, play by ear, can't read sheet music to save my life...at all.

    A cheap 100$ Galviston 6 string electric, and a kick arse Line 6, Spider 3. Traded the bass amp I had laying around for it...

    Tommy Emmanuel comes to mind and while he wasn't known as a guitar player Johnny Cash couldn't read sheet music either.
