What type of bird id this?
Eating another bird today in my backyard. East Central Minnesota
I am leaning towards a Peregrine Falcon.

Thanked: 433It seems to small for a Falcon but I can't get a good size reference. I've been getting large migratory Owls near my place and my girlfriends place. A fair amount of different birds in MN this winter

Looks a lot like Peregrine's, sounds like a Peregrine's. Probably is a Peregrine's. I wouldn't have expected one that far north this time of year, but spring is coming.

We had a sharp-shinned in Maple Grove, Mn. It lived on yellow finches. Would catch them at the feeders in front of the Hardware Hank store.
i agree with Richard. They are rare in MN.If you don't care where you are, you are not lost.

They do breed in Minnesota but up in the Arrowhead or north east area.
