Thanked: 4206Part of the clean up was dribbling some lube as Tom suggested.
I used lps2 which I’ve had really good success with over the years. Presume there is some felt packing on either end and trying to get them resaturated for another 60 years.
Fan blades weren’t even and rubbed before I worked them straight again, then set the pitch to 10’.
Very quite all things considered at full speed. Once it’s installed I doubt I will hear it.
Tonight got my bracket welded in for my brake booster.
Tied it into the main frame under the drivers seat and have the booster angled upwards on a 45’ angle that matches the frame where it goes over the rear axle.
I felt I didn’t want it anywhere up under the hood and there is nothing under this area cept the axle. Exhaust runs up the passenger side of the car so I’m well away from that as well.
Now I need to remove and tap a 1/4 npt hole in my intake manifold and connect that to a run of 3/8 vacuum line and a couple check Vv’s back to this location couple new brake lines and I can call this upgrade complete as well.

Thanked: 4826So is this booster just for the back brakes?
It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

Thanked: 4206The pics may not convey it but nothing is below frame level on the install and the booster will be effectively invisible unless you really look for it. I wanted that as they weren’t standard in British cars till the 70s and wanted it out of sight.
It is plumbed in between the brake pedal and the distribution block and feeds all 4 wheels with power assisted braking.
While I’m sure the car will stop well enough with just the front disk upgrade I did, I still felt I needed the best stopping ability available, both for me, and any future driver, like my son..
He’s never driven standard brakes and 8 would hate for him to misjudge,,,,

Guessing the Master's Reservoir is not on the Master but upon the firewall somewhere?
It's just Sharpening, right?

Thanked: 4206Master res is the can beside the two masters.
As Tom noticed, below my master cylinders, but that wasn’t a problem before the rebuild so I followed suit."Depression is just anger,, without the enthusiasm."

As long as those Masters never suck air it should be fine. But one sip of air and I see an issue. Bleeding could be a real bitch.

Thanked: 4206Forged out to gather some plywood today once the roads were cleared.
Picked up some 1/4 and 1/2 thick g1s red oak plywood to complete the floors and the dashboard face, as well as the boot and window cover door.
Building the glove box first as I’ll need that to install the new fuse box to, as well as before the main dash goes in for the wiring locates.
Also finished the vacuum line, booster install, and plumbed in the fuel pump and associated lines between the tank and the engine.
Few more things knocked off the list but basically, all the main plumbing except wiring is now completed.
Adding those things that are needed installed next. Windshield motor, heater, etc, etc.. all those things that make a car a car..
This girl is getting closer to being able to be called one again..

Thanked: 4206Wood is so much easier to work with than steel, and more forgiving too.
Getting the fit right. Then seal these up!
Been a while since I could easily visualize the finished product.
Now I can tweak the peddles if needed and cut out the heel drop.

Bloody hell Mike - if I'm getting this excited at seeing things come together, you must be through the roof!
It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.
