Thanked: 4207Getting closer on the main cab finish.
Wet hand work till I get to the 3D. Then itlll be polisher and a lambswool pad for stg 1 and a foam pad for stg 2.
Used a lil air brush for some detailed touch ups.
And blended it in with the 1k wet.
Getting there..

My best to ya, Mike. I hate sanding and polishing cars. As my dad used to say... Better you than me.
It's just Sharpening, right?

Thanked: 4207This time, I don’t mind the work, very enjoyable at this stage, making everything as shiny as I can before it all goes together.
Blended repairs all but disappeared happily. I can live with the few imperfections, this was a home garage paint job after all.
And you can just spot the new chrome Bluetooth speakers behind the seat, which sound really good in the garage, tbd on the open road. They are rated to be heard on a Harley, fwtw..
This is the finish, after the 2 compounds and ready for final assembly.
I will buff and wax everything again once she’s all together.
Now to mount the tank and lines, maybe get some gas in the ole girl..

It's been a long haul restoring that beaut, I can't wait to see it rolling.
I procrastinate and wait for the perfect weather to give our car the first wash and polish of the season after the winter grime but it takes such a lot of work, especially when I clay it. I am absolutely sure that project would still be in pieces all over the floor if it were mine.- - Steve

Thanked: 4207Amen, it has been almost 2 years of offline rebuilding.
Now that I have seats, and a sound system I find I am really imagining the final push, open roads ahead and all..
Dug out the old wheel to give it some love before it goes back on as well.
Think it was chrome before it was black, and I know the wood slats can line up better so it’s not as bumpy in hand when turning.
A bit of clamping, sanding, and epoxy work, should be good for another few decades.
Wasn’t OEM anyway so have some liberty with it."Depression is just anger,, without the enthusiasm."

Thanked: 4207Well that was a fussy bit of work, the tank sits under the spare carrier held tight by a metal strap under a rubber strip. Needed an extra set of hands to get everything lined up
But both it, and the rear valance are now installed, and bolt holes lined up where they need to..
Can mount the fuel pump and start working on fenders next.
