Vaping is an interesting next evolution in the metered consumption of cannabinol for sure Jamie.
As I understand it the CBD/thc vaporizes at around 175’ as opposed to smoking where everything gets to combustion temp of around 280’ and burns together.
Vapes therefore only give you the good stuff, with none of the burnt plant matter and associated carcinogens to deal with.
Taken to the next level, the CBD/thc can be removed from the plant material prior to vaping, similar to making hash, only further advanced, and then vaped alone leaving virtually no waste, or odour whilst using.
It’s interesting to me that the active medicinal and trippy component of weed (trichomes) people are seeking resides on the outside of the leaf, not inside the leaf itself.
Almost like it was made for harvesting, by the maker of all things. :shrug:

It's a fast developing science for dang sure!
Our understanding is growing fast but there's much to be learned. Pages and pages of research is available and unavailable (see information paywall), But it's worth reading what's available.
The way that all of the components work together in regards to the entourage-effect, and modulation, to name a couple, is very very complex. It's like the Wild West of medicine!
Take a balanced approach, be mindful.
One thing that is a big positive of this legalization is regulation of quality. I've seen first hand growers back when it was illegal, using very toxic substances on their products.
That doesn't fly now in the club's. Thankfully!
Still got a ways to go though as consumer protection is improving.

Don't forget to save your spent weed after vaping. There's still thc/cbd left which has already been activated through the vaping process. It's potency has been lowered, but, it can be now used in tea or baking you'll just need to use more.

During my junior and senior years of high school, I drank beer and smoked weed but preferred the latter. I graduated #2 in my class, thanks to 3 semesters worth of Bs in phys ed owing to a backwards attendance policy. Funny...but the valedictorian's father was head of the math dept and got him excused from the mandatory 2 years of PE. Unreal.

I did even better over in the engineering program at the University of Washington.

Of course, the most trouble I got into while over at the UofW came from a poison called alcohol. By contrast, the most damage I did over there stoned was to wolf down a plate or 3 of freshly made nachos. YMMV.

36 minutes, Mike? Can you give us a synopsis of his negative views on CBD vs. THC? My friend who grows his own for THC has a buddy who specializes more on the CBD side and says like with THC-dominant strains, not all CBDs are equal. Also, his potency is about 2x the average concentration available here in WA stores. More medicine = more effective.

I believe I mentioned earlier using a VERY small application of his CBD lotion on my sore right shoulder a few months ago, and within 10 minutes tops, the pain completely vanished...and stayed gone for a full 24 hours. Ibuprofen (as an anti-inflammatory and pain med) was not nearly as effective and only "lasted" 4-6 hours per dose. I have a high tolerance for pain and was honestly surprised because I, too, thought CBD (and MJ in general) was being overhyped as a medical cure-all.

TBH, due to the illegality of this plant since forever, very little sanctioned research has been done on MJ since even scientists couldn't get a MJ Tax Stamp from the gov't.

After listening to Rick for just barely 3 minutes, I'd say the guy is speaking 100% truth as regarding research into THC vs. CBD. And, I know full well the variability of seed stock. Add to that the unforgiving parameters of controlled growing/curing to maximize THC potency, and the resulting product will certainly vary wildly in quality and effectiveness.

The market is so completely oversaturated in WA (and OR I hear, too), that producers started cutting corners like taking the proper time to cure the product, so customers now wind up with a fragrance that evokes scent memories of a hay barn rather than a skunk raiding your garden.

Ratios of THC to CBD also matter, but I'm only just beginning to learn about this aspect.

Rick Simpson is railing against the healthcare industry and rightly so. All about the money, kickbacks, etcetera with no real intent to cure someone.

No wonder lobbyists compelled US Feds to rule cannabis illegal in 1922 without any legitimately valid reason (except to protect the paper/rope industries as hemp outperforms in almost every way).

In college I did a paper on Timothy Leary in sociology. During that research I learned the history of the banning of Mary Jane and the rationale at the time.
Made no sense then, or now.
I certainly do concede the undocumented medical gains might be impressive and really hope honest research will be done.

The whole GMO/Monsanto deal reminded me of something. Back into the '90s, I knew in my heart that the NSA was spying on Americans well before all that sh!t came to light post 9/11, but I knew better than to go around sounding like a tinfoil-hat conspiracy theorist. Turns out I wasn't all that crazy in my estimation of our fair gov't's well-funded security apparatus.

Only got to around 8 minutes into the audio interview, and I am very skeptical of his claims for curing cancer. Thanks for tipping me off to the rest of the interview's contents, but the material has me thinking of questions to ask someone more knowledgeable than me, specifically regarding ratios etc.

Having been a musician for 40 years I've been around probably a boxcar worth of weed, and it effects me so bad I can't even do one puff without extreme paranoia lol!!! Haven't tried again in over 40 years

I always ended up at, extreme munchies, and a hankering desire for a nap. :roflmao

But I do know 2 people that have used CBD oil and have beaten cancer with it. Actually one had just gone back for his bi-annual check up and is still clear of it. Haven't spoke to the other in some time.

There are many medical benefits to natural things. Mother Earth really does provide all we need.

I agree that nature provides what we need, that becomes apparent when we consider the very large span of time life has been supported by earth.
A very sobering topic is that of the scary array of crazy terrible chemicals developed every year that are force fed to an incredibly ignorant public. A two year medical study is a joke if one considers what 1000yrs of such chemical abuse may do to our species and the animal kingdom.
This is likely more of a danger to sustainability than global warming IMO.
Its often not what they "say" its what they "don't say". And so when I see headlines, I always try to think about what's not being said, and that often outlines a corrupt bias.
So I don't automatically believe cannabis is a "miracle", but compared to the options, I'm thankful for the gift mother nature has given.
I don't smoke weed, makes me paranoid, takes away appetite, wires me more than coffee. But definitely gonna try cbd as a buddy who has the same effects recently told me its awesome!

Well there's an open can of worms..... I guess with just that one, maybe.

Opioids destroy the brains connection to use the endorphins, so no "happy" feeling without the opioid in ones system.
There is a reason opiate addicts have a 96% failure rate when trying to get clean and there is no real physical addiction to cannibus.

Now, not to start an argument, but opiates have no real medicinal value at all. The god bud is loaded with so many positive physical attributes it's silly!!! From glaucoma to cancer, and many many things in between, the god bud does help if not cure.

Don’t be too hard on him. There’s been years and years of brainwash telling us how bad Cannabis is. Some people are not informed on some of the great things Cannabis can do, and what new positive discoveries have been made about the plant. Some people have chosen to do their own research about it all, and some choose not to, and continue to preach what they think is true.

True fact. A CBD roll-on applicator kept me working through some serious nerve damage in both hands for the last 2 months.

Within 10 minutes of application, tissue swelling decreased dramatically allowing me to continue working through an injury that would have taken most people out of work for 2 to 4 weeks. Relief lasts about 12 hours so only needed to apply 2x daily. There's simply no other anti-inflammatory that works better. Eventually, I had to cut down on work time during the week since medicine only goes so far.

But, yeah, God plant indeed. It's miraculous brother! :)

My Dad is taking CBD oil daily, and is loving it. He has terrible respiratory issues. In the heart of the summer when the humidity is so bad here, he basically has to stay indoors. I thought for sure a few years back I might have to hit him with his epipen his breathing was so bad. He’s also had so many sinus surgeries he can no longer smell.

Well, CBD has changed all that. He’s picking up on scents again, and he’s cut his prednisone use in half, and takes his inhaler only twice a day instead of all day long. Makes me so happy he doesn’t have to worry about his breathing AT ALL anymore.

Now that cannabis is legal in Canada, some pretty amazing things are now available, and research is no longer suppressed which means that there will be leaps and bounds in the near future.

The result is a very pleasant strain that relaxes me, helps with my inflammation, and helps me sleep - but doesn't get me high (which means I don't get paranoid, I don't get the munchies, I don't get a foggy head the next day, etc.). In short, my quality of life has perceptibly improved since discovering this strain of cannabis.

This was available to me legally, for a very reasonable price, and it was delivered right to my mailbox within 4 days of ordering.

I'd say that's progress.

What vape are you using?

Wish I had the article link handy where I nabbed this fact, but the body has 2 receptors for THC.

And 64 (or 65) receptors for CBD. Essentially, CBD affects every pathway in the body to a certain degree. So no wonder many are considering the impacts miraculous.

About time (pun avoided) serious research gets conducted on the plant without pharmaceutical companies hindering those efforts nearly as much.

IMO, these are the best 3.

Arizer Solo, or really anything by Arizer. I hear nothing but great things about Arizer. My sister has had a Solo for 5 years now and it’s never let her down. She micro doses all day everyday for her epilepsy. Arizer is made in Canada.

Storz and Bickel, mighty. Another that I read nothing but good things about. Made in Germany. It has dosing cartridges that you pre load. Great for using as a daily medicator.

My favourite, Dynavap. Has a bit of a learning curve but will save you a ton in Cannabis cost because it’s so efficient. Uses a butane torch to heat up but will get you full extraction of the bud. These are made in the USA.

I also know someone who makes custom stems for the Dynavap. :)

Joel I"m very glad to hear about the help your body is receiving from the CBD.

Now smoking and vaping are not the only ways. I know of CBD tinctures that will do exactly the same with a minor dose, like a drop or 3. There are also edibles that are very effective. Now smoking any herb you only get about 15% of the desired component, in an edible or tincture form, you get over 90% absorption/intake. So you may want to look into those.

I've heard of some of the amazing things that CBD can do and i hope it's true( ive considered giving it a try ), though i must admit that i'm still hesitant to fully endorse the whole recreational Marijuana craze. I wonder if all these claims are true than how long till the FDA (CFIA) and the major drug companies here in the U.S. find some reason to ban it due to loss of profits (they won't give that as the real reason though). My research into natural remedies has shown that there's not as much money in something natural as it can't be patented and controlled. (there's more people making a living from cancer than are dying from it .ex)

Tintin, that is the reason cannabis was banned in the first place. It had medical uses and had to be quashed in the name of profit. And guess what, the government has patented cannabis, how surprising!!
Now as it is here in Michigan, they said that dispensaries have to now buy from the money people (government) and can not buy from caregivers anymore. Well, now there's a major shortage of flower since they didn't ramp up their production in time for this. Government involvement = failure, just a fact.

And Mark you're right it's be like herding cats!!

Interesting enough, now with 27 states with some sort of medical/recreational legality, they are trying to make it Federally legal. We'll see how/when/if that happens
