Mine isn’t fixed, if they can lift it and take it away let them! It took 2 movers and a lift gate and serious dolly to set in my house. No telling what it weighs with all I have in it, But I think it was close to 800# Browning medallion, install 25 rifles and shotguns, 10 pistols, some ammo, all the expensive jewelry, and various other items like gold and accessories for the weapons, my guess would be 1500-2000#. They can have it if they pick it up and leave with it

I'd say at least that much TC. Part of the security of a safe is making it either hard to find (wall or in floor safe) or hard/near impossible to move (floor safe).

I was thinking more a long the lines of a safe for at most a few rifles haha. I suppose it would still weigh at least a few hundred pounds so that would act as a deterrent.

In the UK, a firearm safe not bolted in must weigh at least one imperial ton, (2240lbs) empty. Otherwise the police will not approve your storage arrangement and issue a firearm certificate (permit) which allows home storage.

Well I guess if mine ain’t that heavy, the English police can come and get it, but wait we have the rights here. I guess I could stick another 100# in it to cover it then

I'm not sure they would have the manpower. I get your point, but in the UK are rights aren't yet as restricted as many in other countries believe.

May those rights never be compromised. Although the consensus is that they have been slowly eroded over the past several years.

If you need to add another 100 pounds, I would recommend 9 Savage 99 lever guns in various calibers and configurations. A cute 358 winchester model F seems appropriate. (The 99 is my rifle of choice, and very under appreciated for its accuracy and mechanical design.)

I neeeeeed a new hunting rifle to tinker with and get me motivated for next season

I am firmly stuck on a .338 Caliber maybe .338 Fed but possibly a .338 Win Mag since I have the reloading supplies for it

The only advantage I can see with the 338 Fed vs 338 Win mag is if it can be used in a short 308 sized action to make a compact hard hitting light weight rifle. A 338 Lapua mag is just something else for long, 300 plus yards, hard hitting big game rifle. I guess it depends on the game you hunt and at what distance. Have fun deciding.
