Looks good. Make a jig. It helps when making more that one. I thought about a chess set but nobody Round me plays so i gave up the idea.
It's just Sharpening, right?

Thanked: 4830Big enough that you can put a 25mm knot in the bottom. I expect that chess pieces have some sort of proportion to them and the diameter would predict the height. Although because it only needs to look like a chess queen, those proportions need not be accurate.

The queen in this set has a 1.7-inch base. So fitting a 25mm (1'') knot would be no problem at all. Just a matter of adjusting the height of the base to accommodate the extra depth needed to set the knot.
