Ham on the air
If any of you have the ability to QSY to 24.940 I got the VFO tuned in and will be monitoring for a while.
I figured that maybe someone might come back. I got the SteppIR pointing East. 00:45z

I had no takers from SRP last night but chatted with a couple of locals. Well, Locals to me is in the U.S.A.
Maybe another time. I need to work on my Fist. The key was not very smooth last night. Glad you got your QSY fixed TC. Sounds painful.

Wow! I'm surprised that ham radio still exists! I use to run a 10 meter rig when I was younger. Sold it and never looked back. Got a cell phone. I know it's not the same, but still......

There is no challenge with a cell phone. And it's hard to find strangers who want to chat with you if you dial them up randomly. LOL.
10meter was step 2 the CB (11meters) was step 1. It's time to get that licence and give 20m a try, John! It's just Sharpening, right?

I have had a shortwave for years and used to listen in on the sidebands to you guys. These days shortwave is pretty much dead in North America.

Code is not part of the test any longer. I taught myself code after getting Extra just for these times. When the bands suck code still works them. That and the digital modes.

This stuff is all Greek to me but I've always thought that ham radio was a cool endeavor, (hobby seemed condescending) and useful. It's good to live near a ham operator if the feces ever really hits the windmill.
