    Default Range day

Haven't been to the range in a few months so off I went.

Holster to double tap at 10 yds - one ring then the other alternating.
    Rings are 6"
I'm a little rusty it seems.

It would be interesting to see which are the first and which are the second.

With myself deer hunting I have found that if I miss the first shot I should 90% of the time just not take the second one.

An arguably good argument for using muzzle loaders?

On average much more that 10 yds. :]

I don't hunt but I think that if I had took the first shot and he didn't drop he would at least be heavily wounded so would try to get him down before leaving.
Having said that I have a .270 that would take a few seconds at least to get on point again - its a good snap! and the bullet would travel a hell of a distance. If I were using a slug then would definitely.

.270 is what I hunt with and yes, it takes a couple of seconds to regroup, veiw, reload and reaim, although I have done it at least once. It was about a 90 yd. shot though.

I like to use these splash targets. You can often see in real time where your shots are going.

I like those targets too but can be a little pricey when all the shooting I do is at a range. I have larger orange targets that I marker outline the 4 and 6" ring for extra visibility.
End up mostly just using 8.5 x 11 printer paper with a 6" circle though.
Figure if I can put most in a 6" circle 10 yrds - actually 11 yrds, because the lighting is slightly better for me (eyes aren't what they used to be), then I am good with that
